Development program based on the Softball Québec learning model, focused on enjoyment, motor skill development, and a progressive introduction to the fundamentals of the game.
From the U11 category onward, Chat-O-Cats teams compete within the Lac Saint-Louis League.
The league structure (schedule, regulations, standings, and playoffs) is administered by the League. However, the Association remains fully responsible for the development, technical preparation, and coaching support of its teams.
Practical tools, PDF documents, training resources, official links, and essential materials to support your role as a Chat-O-Cats coach.
The Coaches’ Corner is a space entirely dedicated to the support, planning, and development of our coaches.
Our objective is simple: to provide the necessary tools to coach effectively, progress technically, and build a structured and consistent learning environment for our athletes.
Being a coach with the Chat-O-Cats is not just about running a practice or managing a game.
It is about structuring development.
It is about transmitting values.
It is about positively influencing the athletic experience of young athletes.
We believe that a well-supported coach becomes a confident, organized, and consistent coach.
This section includes:
Practice planning templates
Technical progressions by category
Concrete tools to structure training sessions
Relevant provincial resources
Validated technical references
The goal is not to impose a single method, but to provide a structured framework from which each coach can evolve according to their experience, personality, and level.
We encourage our coaches to:
Plan practices in advance
Promote progressive learning
Place technique at the core of development
Prioritize physical and emotional safety
Communicate clearly with players and parents
Long-term development always takes precedence over immediate results.
We do not build teams to win a single game.
We build players to progress over several years.
We rely on the standards and tools provided by Softball Quebec to ensure technical and regulatory consistency across all our teams.
Provincial resources complement our internal tools and ensure that our coaching aligns with recognized best practices in Quebec.
The association is committed to:
Providing accessible and up-to-date tools
Encouraging continuous training
Offering consistent organizational support
Fostering a collaborative environment among coaches
The Coaches’ Corner is an evolving section.
It will be enhanced each season to reflect on-field realities and the needs of our teams.
